MoneyDecider doesn’t tell you what to do with your money. It teaches you how to decide what to do with it.
Our Purpose & Approach
Money decisions are rarely just about money.
They are influenced by our habits, emotions, responsibilities, and everyday choices—many of which we don’t always stop to examine.
In daily life, we constantly face questions like:
- Should I save more or invest?
- Is taking a loan the right step right now?
- Am I spending out of need—or out of habit?
- Is this “smart choice” actually costing me more over time?
MoneyDecider exists to help you think through these questions with clarity and awareness, not confusion.
We don’t believe in rushed financial advice or one-size-fits-all answers.
Instead of simply asking, “What should I do?”, we encourage you to ask:
- Why am I making this decision?
- What is influencing my choice?
- What do I really need?
- What could be the long-term impact?
Because better decisions come from better understanding—not simply from having more information.

The MoneyDecider Principle
MoneyDecider is not about spending less. It is about spending right.
Suppose you have ₹100 and you are hungry. A piece of bread costs ₹20 and is enough to satisfy your hunger.
Would it make sense to remain hungry simply to save ₹20?
Of course not.
But if ₹20 is enough to meet your need, would spending ₹30 or more for essentially the same result necessarily be a better financial decision?
Not necessarily.
A good money decision is not always the cheapest option—and it is not always the most expensive one.
Sometimes spending more is the right decision because the cheaper option does not adequately meet your need. At other times, spending more simply adds cost without adding meaningful value.
The goal is to spend enough to meet your need, but not more than the need requires.
This principle applies to everyday purchases as well as bigger decisions—whether you are buying a computer, a car, or a house; taking a loan; or deciding where to invest your money.
MoneyDecider encourages you to look beyond the price tag and ask:
What do I actually need, and what is the right amount to spend to meet that need?
My Story: Why I Built MoneyDecider
The ideas shared on this platform are not based on theory alone. They come from real-life decisions, mistakes, responsibilities, and financial experiences.
I did not learn about money from textbooks.
I worked as a teacher in a private school for nearly a decade. Later, I joined APDCL, where I continued working until I eventually chose to resign. I have also worked as a freelance journalist.
Alongside my professional journey, there was another journey—my experience with money.
I had to take multiple loans at different stages of my life. Some were from banks, and at times I also borrowed from local moneylenders at high interest.
These loans were connected to responsibilities I had to carry—completing the house my father had started, supporting my sister’s medical treatment, and contributing to my younger brother’s marriage.
There was a time when I was under significant financial pressure, managing multiple loans and credit dues.
It was not easy.
But that experience forced me to reflect deeply on my financial decisions, my habits, and the way I understood money.
Over time, through discipline, awareness, and more careful thinking, I was able to repay most of those debts.
The journey is still ongoing, but it has changed the way I look at money—and the way I make financial decisions.
MoneyDecider is a result of that journey.
I do not claim to be a certified financial adviser or financial expert. I write from real experience, research, and practical observation about the choices many of us face—whether to take a loan, when to invest, how to think before spending, and how to recognise mistakes and hidden costs that can quietly affect our financial lives.
If my experiences and research can help you think more clearly and make more conscious money decisions, then this effort has meaning.
A Simple Belief
Small, everyday habits can shape our financial lives more than we realise.
Improving your finances does not always require dramatic changes.
Sometimes, it begins with something much simpler:
Noticing what usually goes unnoticed.
A small recurring expense.
A habit of borrowing.
An unnecessary upgrade.
A purchase driven by emotion.
A decision made without considering its long-term cost.
When we become more aware of these things, we can begin making different choices.

Final Thought
MoneyDecider is built around a simple belief:
Think Clearly. Decide Wisely.
Not every financial decision has one universally correct answer.
The right choice can depend on your needs, circumstances, priorities, and the trade-offs involved.
That is why MoneyDecider focuses less on telling you what to do and more on helping you think through the decision before you make it.
If this platform helps you:
- think a little more clearly,
- question your financial choices,
- recognise hidden costs, or
- make more mindful decisions,
then it has served its purpose.
Make decisions that make sense—not just decisions that feel right.
